Works great, worth every penny.
I purchased a 70's model Ben Pearson 7370 Hawk 52" recurve at a pawn shop. It was terribly light and while made well, it had no tip overlays, and no frills. However it handled well and for 45#, it had decent arrow speed. I decided to try a modern fast flight string, and so ordered it and these overlays together. Because the limbs tapered and the nocks were quite narrow, I used the… read more thick black and the red phenolic material on each nock. I definitely got a good increase in speed, and love the way it handles now. I have shot nearly a thousand arrows with no problems yet. I recently bought a Bear Black Panther Hunter 52" that pulls 50#, and added a single layer of red phenolic material over each nock. Haven't shot much yet but so far so good. Both bows were easy to apply the overlays to, and also easy to finish. I definitely recommend these to anyone with a bow they want to upgrade to a modern string material.
Good product
These are exactly as described, the set I got had enough material for two long bows if cut carefully. They glued up easily and are holding fine.
New Life to an old Bow
I used this product to repair an old bow with a broken tip.it went together well stayed together and works fine. thanks
Real easy to apply, looks great
I bought a bow blank for cheap and didn't like the tips. I put the overlays on with generic super glue, and they are on forever. I used way too much glue, but in the end, it didn't matter. I finished the bow with tru oil, and the overlay is shiny as ever. looks like ebony.
Good
Use with quick it blue. Very easy to shape and look nice.

You will want to glue on the phenolic before you shape the limb tips. Give us a call at 1-866-587-9501 if you have any more questions.
Phenolic is somewhat flexible and most bows including recurves are flat enough at the tips that you should have no problem installing them if you epoxy one layer at a time on. - by Keith on Nov 17, 2015 PUBLISHED (Answer ID: 2160616)

It would be recommended to use both red and black on each tip.
use both pieces when you bevel off to shape you will see both pieces. looks great and adds strength Wally Post
Once you have shaped them you will then go through different grits of sandpaper form heavy to light. Once you get down to say 400 grit then you can seal with a polyurethane. The polyurethane will also help shine them up.
This could be used with a self/board bow if desired.
It will protect the tips from damage yes. But older bows fiberglass can sometimes not handle the extreme shock from the string because fast flight has no adsorbing quality.
I use the Quick fix (thick) after the bow is laminated for the limb tips.
Yes it makes the bow fast flight capable
This is really for a bow that you are in the process of building not sure how well it will work on a bow that is already built.
