Quick Stick 60" Hybrid Longbow Reviews

Excellent Design and Quality

Fell in love with this bow at first sight. Bought the 35# for recreational shooting. To me the perfect blend of traditional long bow elements combined with the subtle modern enhancements (compact length, reflex/deflex limbs, hybrid grip, and carbon layer under the natural limb veneers for stability). The combination of woods and accents is custom grade. Absolutely love the no gloss read more matte finish. I cannot detect a single production flaw. Performance wise, the bow lives up to its name and reputation. Performance is noticeably fast compared to other 35# I've shot. Some of the that zip comes from limbs that are stiffer than other 60" bows, but draw curve is still smooth out to my 29"+ draw. The one con I have on this bow is probably a subjective one. The grip, while hybrid, is probably contoured for a full trad long bow grip. The part of the grip where the base of the thumb goes is rounded and slopes toward the shelf side. That, combined with narrow circumference make it difficult for me to grip recurve or compound style. So I finally broke down and built up the shelf side by cutting up a self-adhesive 3Rivers leather bow saddle grip, applying three layers to the shelf side of the grip, and then wrapping the whole grip in suede bow wrap. The modified grip seems to be holding up well after 400 arrows. Hated to do it, but the dark brown suede wrap fits the aesthetic and now I have better control to match the power and maneuverability of this amazing bow.

Outstanding Bow

Excellent quality and is an awesome value. I've owned several bows in the last 40 years of shooting Traditional. Some cost 2 to 3 times more but, this little bow is every bit as good or better.

Love this Bow!

Wanted a second longbow in 50# (5# under my other) just for fun. Several things about this bow caught my eye. After speaking with 3R Tech Support staff (comment was "this is a REALLY NICE bow"), I purchased. So glad I did… I love everything about this bow! It's smooth, it's quiet, it's easy, it's dead in my hand. And although it wasn't a key consideration for me, it is indeed read more fast. I found 7-1/8" brace to be sweet spot for me shooting 3 under. I have a 27" DL. A couple things about the feel that I quickly adjusted to: Grip is a little fuller than I was used to, but is actually very comfortable for me and after 50 shots or so I began to really like it. The finish on the bow has a hard coarse texture. It's different for me but in no way offensive. It actually makes it a little "slippy" in the hand. My one gripe is the string. It just continues to creep and creep and will not settle in. After about 300 shots the serving started loosening up. I put up with that for probably another 100 shots then reserved it. I figure I probably have about 600 shots through the bow and still have to put a couple twists in every 50 shots or so to maintain brace ht. I am ordering a new string for it. Other than string, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I bought this bow just for plinking, but thinking seriously about taking this out for spring turkey season.

Returning to archery after a 30 year lay off. All-in to traditional this time around. Started with a 62" 40# Strata and graduated to this little beauty in 45#. The gorgeous Q Stick is more aggressive, faster and more focused than the Strata. It is the best thing ever for defending your property against invading softballs, water bottles, Orcs or whatever. This thing loves the woods read more and stump shooting. The Strata is an excellent target bow, is forgiving, draws smoothly and shoots nicely but is noisier and kicks back more than the Stick. The Quick Stick is its rowdy cousin. It is fast and aggressive, has less hand shock, is a little less forgiving but more rewarding to shoot. It is very quiet too with the 'whisper' string and silencers. The satin finish is perfect for roving or hunting, is attractive and feels good in the hand and to the eye. The perfect second or upgrade bow.

Best bow for your money.

I ordered the bow without the set up option as I like to set my own bows up, I was a little hesitant about ordering a 60" LB as I'm 6'4" with a 29" draw and figured it would stack up pretty bad, but boy was I wrong. This is by far one of the best shooting L-Bows I've ever shot. I set mine up for 3 fingers under and 7.5" brace height as that where mine seemed to sweeten out at and read more 3/4" nock height, and mine is about 53ibs at 29" with 65-70 spine cedar arrows and a 140gr tip. This bow is dead in the hand, very quick with a very smooth draw even at 29". It's snappy fast and with some wool string silencers pretty quiet, and deadly accurate out to 30 yds for me but that will differ from one shooter to another depending on experience. With a 30 year warranty I really don't think you can go wrong with this bow.

I just can't put this bow down...

I have a close friend that wanted a 40# Quick Stick and I did the ordering for him and had it sent to my address so I set it up and shot it. I was so impressed with how accurate and how smooth it shot for a 60" bow. I called 3 Rivers Archery and ordered one for myself with the same weight . Both of us old men were like kids with a new toy at Christmas and we have had our share read more of expensive high end bows and we both couldn't believe just how a bow as the Quick Stick can deliver so much energy with a light weight poundage. 3 Rivers Archery gave us a great deal on these two bows and my go to Archery Store for equipment and I Trust their commitment to making a customer feel like he or she is taken care of even beyond the purchase. A special Thank You to a special Young Lady who took my order on both bows as well. She went above and beyond with these two Quick Sticks .We are also very impressed that this bow has a 30 year warranty if something should happen that isn't our fault so that in itself speaks volume to me.

Great bow.

I purchased this bow in 45# for hunting. This bow does everything well - it's a smooth, fast, accurate, quiet, comfortable, beautiful bow that's sweet shooting with no stacking or hand shock even at 29"+ draw. Superb matte finish gives great feel and grip. Bow is forgiving yet fast and powerful. Beautiful wood grain in handle. This will be one of your favorite bows.

I use this as my back yard target bow, 15 - 40 yards. Smooth shooting, and fun. On top of that looks great on the wall when waiting for action.

Hi Is the Bodnik and the Bear paw Quick sticks the same bow? Do you have the new version of the Quick stick in 50# yet? Any problem with arrows falling off the shelf for archers that don't cant because of the outside chamfer? Greg

I believe those are two brands that fall under the same roof (like a lot of car companies). We have 45# in stock, but no 50# or 55# currently. I've not heard of arrows falling off with shooting vertically. That happens with rolling the fingers on the drawing string. So, can be corrected with watching to not roll on the string.
