Simple, effective long bow sight
As was commented, the tip of the pin is too small and the pin was too short for me. I bought several ss 6-32 2 inch screws. I used a short section to connect the knurled nut to the sight body [held in place with lock tite, about 5 threads] I turned another screw to shape about 1/4 at the end. to .060, and turned a small brass sight to press fit on the .060 pin end. The length… read more of the pin will depend on each shooters requirements, just play with it. the net effect is the elevation and windage can be adjusted independently, and moving one will not affect the other. A lot of messing around, but a much improved setup. Maybe.the maker of this device can offer an improved version, doing the above, Not everyone has a metal lathe or the necessary skills to pull this off.
Very nice, sturdy and simple bow sight.
I used velcro to attach the sight to my new takedown bow. The dot is a little small so I applied white out which has made the sight much more effective. For my purposes, which is mainly backyard target shooting, I really like this simple but effective sight.
Great!
Closest thing to a merrill site I can find. Works like a charm.
This is an excellent product
This really helps with aiming my old Bear Kodiak
Best 5 bucks spent
This sight has proven itself by increasing my accuracy and confindence when hunting with my recurve bow. I made a few adjustment to the sight. 1. added a longer screw of like dia and thread size as the organal pin length was too short for my shooting style. I shoot my recurve with only a 4 degrees of slant. 2. it was hard to see the end of the pin on the orginal and the replacement… read more pin under low light conditions, so I glued on a small red plastic cap so now I can picked up the target very will under all lighting conditions. 3. Orginally I used electrial tape but ended up screwing it on.
Great little pin site
Put it on my Black Widow for those times when I can range the target animal before releasing. I am more interested in the ethical shot than needing to make an instinctive shot.
All dressed up!
Here is the picture I promised. I painted it red instead of brown and added some tape to keep track of my position.
Very well made
This product is surprisingly well made. The bar is aluminum and the slider is machined from solid aluminum hex bar stock. The pin is well made and appears to be machined from steel all-thread and I am not sure if is stainless or regular steel. I added two small O-rings in front of the rear (black) nut, between the slider and the washer, and now it holds its position even when… read more loosened for easy and precise adjustments. I will be painting it brown soon so it blends into the bow.
If something simple is to your taste
I like having a site point and this is a complement to a consistent anchor.
Great value
These are great, I have several vintage recurves and I don't want to be drilling holes all over the place so I just tape these on with artists tape when I shoot . The artist tape is easily removable without leaving residue. The sights work very well for me.
.. No, I would not at this time.. Use the adhesive tape, or whatever was supplied with your site FIRST. If you determine that you want to permanentlykeep this type site for your bow .. THEN use the 'screws' ....
We would not have a direct replacement for the pin at the moment.
It is smaller than an 8-32 thread but not sure of exactly what the thread count is.
Once the pin is set up you will not lose your zero at that distance.
It's difficult to tell. The sight is very nice for the price and I used velcro to attach it to my bow. I feel that with secure mounting and care when stringing and unstringing this sight will remain true. George
This will not lose its zero from unstringing and stringing the bow.
I've been using mine two seasons, haven't touched it since the initial zeroing regards, Matt pardon typos, on the move
Yes the sight will keep it's zero and you won't have to sight it in every time. I used it for awhile until I got used to shooting intuitively, it certainly helped me develop that. Good luck with it.
Yes you can use this sight on the montana. I would use a double sided tape to mount this to the bow.
I don't see why not, I glued thin pieces of rubber to the ends so it wouldn't slide and neatly taped it with electrical tape.
Works well I used double sided tape on mine.
I don't know if it will fit your bow, i attached mine with silicone, because i didn't want screw holes in my bow. It really helped my shooting, because i've shot a compound for 20 years. I don't know what brand my bow is, it's a recurve that my daughter and son in law re-fiineshed. Hope this helps
Either way will work. I screwed mine on and it's pretty good. Hope this helps. Scar.
Yes this will fit your magnum
It should fit. It seems pretty universal. Just two screws or tape on. I installed last year and it works great. Sent from my iPhone
Yes it's bendable aluminum & should fit on pretty much every bow. (One way or another) Sent from Yahoo Mail for iPhone
Can't say 100% about that particular bow. It fits my Martin 52# recurve fine, which is probably pretty similar.
You can adjust the up and down as well.
The pin screws in and out for windage and slides up and down the sight body for yardage. I've seen people print out a bunch of horizontal tick marks and tape it to the front side for more consistent adjustment.
Hi. Yes you can move/ adjust it up and down. In fact I find left/right adjustment kind of useless as pin sticks out too far (IMO)in this case but u/d definitely helps. Blessings

I set mine for twenty five yards. Up to 25 is on. After that I simply hold a little higher. Past 25 my bow looses its effectiveness so I try not to push must past that. It's not an exact science but it works for me. Sent from my iPhone
You can use a peep sight although one is not needed if you have a good solid anchor point and you are consistence every time when you draw back. A peep sight will definitely help if you have a tendency to not get back to a solid anchor point.
