I make wood laminated trout nets, and have made five bows this year with TB111. My nets sit in the water for hours while wading, and I have never had any customer complaints. I just made an Osage, Hickory tri lam which I tillered after 24 hr, and shot after 72 hr with no problems

A Fine Glue

Ok so I tried it for bow backing and the dry time was WAY to much!Causing problems, but that said it works GREAT for furiture! "That's all I have to say about."-stickslinger

Needed the glue to effect a splinter repair on selfbow. Patched the area using the glue - let it dry two days and repair perfect. And,no mess, easy cleanup. Seems to hold like iron.

I would buy this product again and again

İ used this product on one of my longbows delamination which was starting around the bottom of the grip going up with a total lenght of 17-18 inches. The application was without problem and the cleaning very easy with a piece of slightly wet tissue. İ left the bow to have the drying rest for four fulldays to be in the safe side, and İ started to shoot with no cracking sound or read more bad sense, the following day and the third day still no problem at all. İt shoots like brand new.

Works AWESOME!

I've built a few bows using TB3 and have had 0 failures, knock on wood! I purchased a hickory selfbow and in the first 5 draws got a crack on the back. I used TB3, clamped let set for 3 days and it shot great!, got a nice Elk with it. The glue is very easy to obtain, use, and cleans up easy. A very tough glue, I highly reccommend it.

TB III will work fine for the Snake Eze covering. I think just a coating of polyurethane over same would seal it fine and protect from moisture. I would use a satin finish. Good luck, Frank

Will this glue work for glueing snake skin to the back of Fred Bear Montana long bow??

Yes, this should work good for your application. I will normally 10 years ago

Yes, this should work good for your application. I will normally rough up the surface before applying the glue so it has better adhesion. If you need any help, feel free to give one of our techs a call.

Hello, Bart I have been using this Titebond III for almost every 10 years ago

Hello, Bart I have been using this Titebond III for almost everything and I love the stuff! I have not used it in the application you mention here, however, I assume your bow being a Montana is fibreglass backed and will have some sort of glossy or semi gloss finish. For that reason, my suggestion would be to steel wool the back of your bow to a dull finish, thus removing that finish before applying your snakeskin backing. Since I have not tried that application and since I am not an expert, please consider other responses to your question in conjunction with mine. I can only tell you this glue is phenominal and I have used it for many household chores as well as archery stuff and it has not let me down in any way. Good luck.

I am finding that Titebond III a very versatile and rugged product and, yes. it does work with artificial sinew although I prefer using real sinew or thread for applying with the TBIII and when completely dry covering the wrap with a super glue for waterporoofing. Frank

My thought is this glue is not as good as hide glue particularly where a load or pressure is concerned - worked very well for me as a good bond for patching, repairs, etc. but would not count on it for horn or sinew - not as elastic. Original email:

I have no idea to what you refer. I have used the glue for a sinew patch and it was great. I have heard that curing the glue in a hot box allows for a greater degree of hold during hotter weather and I really will never subject any bow laminations to a three hour boil - let's face it - I would not expect any bow of wood laminations to hold up, with that kind of abuse. a

About two months ago İ have used the Titebond 3 to fix a delamination of a 68" longbow. The delamination of two layers of white wood (hickory ?) was starting at the lowest part of the bow grip going up for about 18" in total.İ forced the bow back to open wide the delamination, put a knife in to keep it wide open, to enable to glue the problematic place and filled the crack with Titebod. The knife still in the crack İ moved it all long the delaminated place to spread the glue till the edges and took the knife off.İ wiped off the overflew glue with a tissue and put the bow on the floor with a coffee table (weighting about 20 lbs) on it to make it pressed. (İt will be more convenient if you have the necessary pressing tools)İt waited there days without any touch, but İ believe 48 hours of stay in press and some additional 48 hours before string it will be enough.İ went to the field, stringed the bow (60 lbs), pulled - no problem- and shot. Everythig was fine. Second shot and s! o on, İ shoot every day at least 100 arrows/day and it is still all right. Hoping that this is clear and will be helpful.
