Tomahawk Custom Flemish Bow String

Upon receiving my Custom made Tomahawk ThunderStorm II, I received a pair of Red & Black bowstrings that measured 61" for the 64" length of the longbow. At first glance I noticed the strand count and serving. I didn't know that they were flemish twisted. Immediately qualities of the strings caught my eye. The sheen and tightness of the twist, in that, though coiled in it's own read more package remained firmly twisted as I extended it the string to measure prior to setting up the bow, both measured 61". I wondered what the strand count on the strings are? 14? The string looks light and thin but firmly wound. And I thought maybe this is one of those minimum stranded strings, that produces fast kinetic energy transfer from the limbs to the arrow via a thinner string reacting faster. The second most noticeable quality is the serving. It is the same type that the bowyer who services my 70# Hoyt Alpha Burner (2009) compound bow uses. I called 3 Rivers right away and asked what the serving material on the string was. I told him that it looked plump and elastic, tightly held in place due to it being a little thicker on the minimum of strands; synthetic in appearance. I prefer "that" type of serving in that it is slick and releases the the arrow smoothly, is thick enough to easily hold the arrow in place but not too snug. I told the bow tech at 3R's what the label said, T Hawk 64" Standard string. After describing the serving and info on the label, he mentioned that it was a Brownell 50 or Brownell 20 serving. I wish I wrote it down. Maybe I should just buy those strings with cool colors and serving instead of making my own.

Excellent string

I installed this string on a Tomahawk Diamond Series longbow that I recently purchased from a friend. The string performs well. Not much stretch as it settles in quite nicely. The only drawback is that with 18 strands regular s nocks fit too tight. But no worries i just filed them down a little and it works just fine.

Fantastic string

Love these strings. Quality string on a quality tomahawk bow. Pigeon pair.

To little information is costly

This looks to be a good string, but I was unable to use it. I purchased it based on the review that Easton super nocks worked fine. Not only would super nocks not work on the double served string, my largest classic nocks wouldn't fit this string. Very frustrating becase shipping is half as much as the string. I wish 3 rivers would provide more information as to which nocks would read more fit their strings. I guess I'll go back to what I know works.

Excellent , very satisfied

Great string, very well done. Make sure you get it double served if you are using a easton super, gold tip gt, or similar size nock or it will fall right off you string. The serving is done so perfectly on my string I was amazed. It is tight!!!!!! And wears like iron. Very happy with this string and will purchase more soon.

Looked great

I have two strings for my 64 inch long 60@28 diamond desert fox bow and with the silencers it is a thoom noise, with the spare string it's a thumbnail like a low grade on an acoustic guitar, now I have a 7 inch brace and itthe noise a flag makes flapping

The brace height should be between 6.75" and 7.25". I would say 9 years ago

The brace height should be between 6.75" and 7.25". I would say you can get the bow quieter. You may need to purchase better silencers or reposition the ones you already have. It may take some experimenting to find the correct placement. Also, if you shoot a heavier arrow, that will sometimes help quiet the bow.

I have a samick sage recurve that is 62" in length I was wondering what size string needed and if this string would work for this type of bow?

A 62" Sage will need approximately a 58" string. These are longb 3 years ago

A 62" Sage will need approximately a 58" string. These are longbow strings so when you order one for the 62" bow, the string will be 59" instead of the 58" needed for your recurve. I may recommend going with something like this: https://www.3riversarchery.com/rogue-spectra-flemish-twist-bow-string.html .

What is standard serving vs. double serving? I have a 66" long bow. What size string should I get; 63"?

If you use wood arrows with the Bohning Classic Index nocks the 4 years ago

If you use wood arrows with the Bohning Classic Index nocks the Double Served option will fit well. If you are using carbon then the Single Served option is better. These strings are measured by AMO so the 66" option will be 63"

54" is the AMO which would mean you need a 51" string and the 58# is the poundage of the bow itself.

Asked by Johnny 4 years ago

how can I order a 56" string in green/tan/black if I can only choose bow length? this would be for my 60" bear Kodiak 1959 remake.

These strings are measured with our Tomahawk Longbows in mind so 4 years ago

These strings are measured with our Tomahawk Longbows in mind so they will all be 3" less. The normal fast flight string is #4443x

Asked by Samick Verna 5 years ago

Will the Tomahawk bowstring in 64" with standard serving work for a Samick Verna?

The T Hawk string in 64" is the AMO measurement so the string is 5 years ago

The T Hawk string in 64" is the AMO measurement so the string is actually 61" long. If your bow is a 64" longbow then this string will work great for you.
