Great product
Easy to use, holds good tension when applying serving.
This tool works great.
The nylon bushings don't fit in the spool of the Browning serving threads spool without simple modification. Easy to do.
Serving jig
It does take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the operation of the tool to figure the initial tension. Once that is dialed in correctly serving a string goes extremely fast.
Great jig
made it very easy to do the servings on the ends loop and a center serving on the balista strings
Works like a champ!
Makes nice tight servings....
First time user. perfect for serving!
I have been an archer for over 50 years. first time i have tried my own strings. you folks take the guess work out of it! thanks, bill
Excellent tool easy to use.
Excellent tool.
Easy to use
I have never attempted to make a bowstring before using this and I got it on the second try. The instructions were a little hard to follow but I just googled how to finish it off with a different knot and presto still no problems.
Simple yet effective
New to string making but long time Archer. I purchased this one due to reputation and the AAE one due to build. This works. It has no bells and whistles but will get the job done. Adjustment is pretty lacking. Coarse threads makes it go from super tight to run away loose with very little in between. Once set, you can run serving as fast as the other one I have. It feels pretty… read more thin in metal. I had to add a plastic washer and a spring washer to the adjustment side to help keep the setting and provide a smoother adjustment. Once that was figured, the tool does what it supposed to. I wouldn't feel lacking using this tool, but there are much better ones out there if you pay a few extra coins. I found the heavier servers tend to have a better spin due to the increased momentum. This is light enough that you need to keep finger contact on while spinning from what I've found.
Good string server
Work great for re-serving old bow strings. Easy to use, the instruction are not great but there are plenty of video for string serving.
Are you asking about serving strings or tying on feathers to a shaft.
Sir we have very little experience with cross bows I would take the string an reserve it that way.
Yes, the length of the string should already be established and the necessary twists put into it to get that length. You may still have to twist the string after wards to get the correct brace, but you should already be pretty close.
I untwist my string feed the thread through the fibers and the re twist the bowstring tight enough so that the thread doesn't fall out but you don't have to twist the string to the regular length because you can always do it afterwards
Keeping the twists in the string as you use it will help keep the serving tight. I make my own Flemish twist strings and have about 10 twists in mine prior to serving to lock in my braids.
It fits on a different way than the one in this video. The V thats in it is what the string goes into, but it goes onto the string tight, so you can still spin it around the string.
It does not...it has a simple "crease" where the thread comes through that allows you to follow your previous wraps in a similar way. You will not be able to spin this one hands-free like the one in the video but it serves my strings just fine only a little slower.
no
yes it does. Lay the bow string in the V-groove adjust tension to bring the server up against the bow string and spin...
The notch were the serving string comes through rides on the bowstring.
The Tornado string serving jig is only to be used with serving material so the 1/4# string material rolls will not fit on it.
No, the Tornado serving jig does not come with serving material.
