I am looking to purchase a first recurve for my nine year old son. The Cairn looks like a great option. As he - and his brother - grow, are the limbs replaceable to increase the draw weight? Do you recommend the 54" over the longer unit for a first bow?

Yes, the limbs are interchangeable in the same model (the 54" model vs. 62" model) so you will be able to change the draw weight and keep the rest the same. I would suggest the 54" model would be a good fit for a nine year old. Best of luck and have fun!

My daughter is 14 and 5'3". She has only shot a compound bow but is wanting to get into traditional archery. Would this be a good bow for her?

Yes, this would be a perfect size for her to get started into traditional archery. Just remember that you have to go down in poundage from compound by about 10lbs for her size.
