The Feather Rest is a time-tested tool for improving arrow flight and accuracy. For many decades, bowhunters and archers would take leftover fletchings to make feather arrow rests. This wasn't simply an economical solution. Feather Rests are effective tools for improving your accuracy. With natural give, they allow for bows to tune more easily, and provide cleaner arrow flight. ...read more

A One Arrow Rest
This is my 1st time using a wild turkey feather rest -- I'm highly impressed with it - love it -
This added speed to my setup
Love what it has done to my setup on the sage. Will be getting another for my Martin.
Functional, looks nice, easy to install
Bought this feather rest with a calf hair strike plate to replace the original, which was worn out and fell off, on my 70'-72' Bear Grizzly. Bow is shooting quiet again, as the arrow leaves the shelf very clean. A simple cleaning of the shelf and careful positioning, just peel and stick and press. Easy job.
Works Well, Fast
I attached this (using its self-stick panel) to the arrow shelf of my SWA Spyder XL. It attached easily, and provided a very nice support for the arrow. It's allowing a slightly faster arrow speed than the plastic finger rest it replaces, I believe, although I didn't have a chronograph to check with (I'd guess about 2 fps, nothing dramatic, but it feels a little faster). After… read more moving it once, and after about a month of shooting (probably 20 hours or so), the ends began to lift up slightly. A little hot glue fixed that without issue. Other than that, I have had no trouble. I will probably get another once this one wears out.
Simple and Effective, a Little Fiddly
This comes with a self-stick backing, and is applied to the bow shelf as an arrow rest. It's simple and effective, giving a very low-friction rest without any mechanical parts. It seems to give a slightly faster arrow than other fixed rests (plastic finger, shelf rug, etc.), and the group I shoot with, the SCA, forbids mechanical rests. I find myself a little less able to keep… read more the arrow on the shelf than with the plastic finger I used before, but I'm improving my technique to compensate. Also, the self-stick on the stiff backing wasn't quite strong enough to secure it to my slightly curved bow shelf, and the ends lifted up after application. A little hot glue has fixed that, but a more flexible backing might have made it unnecessary. I plan to buy another once this one wears out.
Holds the arrow and keeps it quiet
I've bought two more because my last one fell but that's my fault. It holds the arrow in place and keeps the arrow quiet when released and slides along the feathers instead of the shelf of your bow. If you get this, put it where the feathers go with the forward motion of the arrow when released from the string.
Great rest
I use this rest on my longbow It gets your arrow up off the shelf and I get better groups with it
This is great for brush when you need to hold the bow funky.
It helps stability the arrow
I haven't had the opportunity to use the rest yet.
Although I haven't had the opportunity to use this rest yet, it appears to be a well made product.
Works Ok
The Pros: Turkey feather rest looks good, it's slightly canted, smooth draw, can potentially increase accuracy. Cons: not good for hunting as drawing an arrow on this rest in my opinion is just to loud. Rest is just too small and canting on drawmaybe necessary.
I don't see why it would not work. Just make sure to clean the rest on the riser before you mount it. An alcohol wipe should work, and when you position the rest on your riser, make sure that the vanes are oriented so they will not provide resistance to the arrow when loosed.
I put this on my bear Grizzly instead of the bear hair. It works perfectly. I think it would work on any bow. I like the feather arrow rest and think you could only benefit by trying it out. RichB
This rest will work with both feather and plastic fletched arrows.
I use it for feathers because it doesn't distort or hurt them. I haven't used it with vanes. I would think that vanes, being stiffer and not having the give of feathers might damage the rest but can't confirm that. You might want to ask one of their experts.
This rest will still work in rainy conditions. I would recommend a water replant to help keep it dry for best performance.
I live on the wet side of Washington State and this rest works just fine in the wet conditions for me.
Yes you will want a RH rest.
Thu duco cement would work very well for that.
It is about 1/4" tall and only 1 needs to be used.
It is 1/4" tall and tapers to 1/8". It is about 1/4" wide. The taper helps hold the arrow in place. Suggest you use only one. Am very happy with mine!
It's about a quarter inch or less& no it covers the rest
If you are pulling the string back with your right hand then you would need a right hand rest.
If you draw the bow with your right hand, you need a right hand rest (left hand, left hand rest). It is built with taller feathers on the outside and shorter on the inside to keep the arrow against the riser on the shelf. You will also need to install a plate prior to installing the rest.
If you shoot a traditional recurve right-handed-drawn with the right hand, held in the left, with the sight window on the left side of the bow-you should order the right-handed version of this rest. If you shoot left-handed-drawn with the left hand, held in the right, with the sight window on the right side of the bow-you should order the left-handed version of this rest. Ordering the proper version ensures that the feathers slope inward toward the strike plate to hold the arrow and that the fibers angle forward with the travel of the arrow.
If you draw with the right hand you want a right hand product. Due to the slant of the feathers this will help keep arrow in while drawing the sting.
You would order a right hand rest.
High side out. Since it slopes it will help hold the arrow on place. Sent from my iPhone
Right side for right handed Sent from my iPhone
It doesnt really matter. When you apply it to your rest make sure the pattern of the feathers is pointing backwards. It would be like if you took the feathers off the fletching of your arrows and turned them around. That way when you arrow is released, the arrow goes with the grain of the feather. The only real problem is if you are putting the feather rest on a shelf that isnt very flat. I used one on my Hoyt buffalo and had to apply some super glue to the under side of the front to get it to stay down due to the shelf being curved. I have a Bear Kodiak 59 that these are for and love it so much that I have incorporated them on to all my bows. Its a great rest but it will wear out after time like all rests do. Hope that made some sense. It will when you get it and see that the feathers on the rest all point one way.
Yes , by right handed Sent from my iPhone
If you draw with your right hand, you need a right-handed feather rest. Although this is my favorite rest, keep in mind that that the adhesive works best on bows with a flat shelf. Otherwise, you'll probably need to glue it in place.
There is no set distance. I would set it close to the side of the riser (maybe an 1/8"), but whatever your prefer.
I didn't measure but placed it right next to the strike plate in my long bow I don't have any feather rests on my recurves which have a wider shelf.
This is asking if it is for a right or left handed bow.
