Way better than I expected!
I shoot in my basement. The "adult" bow being 72" would hit the ceiling. This "youth" version works and at 30#(my draw length is 26") is good for practice. I added a few twists to the string, a calf hair rest, and a nock point. Using my wife's arrows(she shoots a 35# recurve) the bow shoots very quiet and is accurate at 10 yds. I am really impressed.
RATED as 30lb Pull and ACTUAL pull is mid 40lbs !
The bow is in good physical condition ... no sanding even required .... no indentations ... no blemishes. With regard to the Pull Weight, using a digital scale, with confirming comparisons, this 30 lb.s pull Rated bow at 26" has an Actual pull of 44 lbs. At 23" the Pull Weight measures, & confirms, to be 36.5 lb.s. I purchased it knowing there was no warranty; however, it is reasonable… read more to say that I doubt that 3 Rivers wants to be shipping any bows with that much disparity, warranted or non-warranted. Maybe if I keep the bow forever strung it'll will weaken some over time :- )?
I am seriously thinking about getting another one.
I bought this bow for my daughter (10yr old), and she really enjoys shooting it. We have not customized it yet but the designing process is turning out to be enjoyable for my little artist.
Good value. I will buy more.
The only problem I had with the bow was the saw marks. Taking these out changed the tiller. For someone who doesn't have an understanding of this process might ruin the bow. Also this bow is for "youth". I think the draw weight is too heavy for smaller children.
A 59" string will fit the 62" bow
If you hold the bow in your left hand and pull the string back with your right hand then you would need a right handed bow. Flip this for a left handed bow.
