I would buy this again
Simple to use, once you figure out how to use it.
My second chopper
This is my second chopper. I purchased a t-hawk first years ago and now a banana. Both are excellent products, easy to adjust for longer of shorter feathers. I fletch arrows for others as a hobby and chopped 100's of feathers in the t-hawk with no problems.
Needed a little tweek
First cut it left some fletch uncut found that the strke plate was not flat due to a short piece of double faced tape underneath removed it and reassembled next cut perfect
Works as advertised
Easy to use
Great product and works great
Worked great.
Choppin away!
This thing cuts a clean consistent profile. I like it.
Works great.
Work very well would definitely recommend to archer's looking to do their own arrows.
Great chopper improved over old ones I have
Worked very well
Works perfectly
I use this chopper to shorten some older feathers that I have. My new rest on my compound hunting bow interferes with 5 inch feathers, this chopper saved me a lot of $ over buying all new feathers. They also match the Gateway feathers I bought of the same length exactly, The only thing that could have been in the directions is make sure the quill is pulled down tight on each end… read more before setting blade the blade on the feather.
USEFUL, BUT NEEDS TWEAKS (Read the Whole Post)
We have three Little Choppers from stock, and three more custom built to my specs. They work as advertised, but needed some adjustments. The feather guide plates did not stay put for very long. I loosened the two screws that hold the plates in place, adjusted to where I wanted, then applied a drop of J-B Weld Perma-Lock (or similar) to each screw before turning them tight again.… read more The hinges on the blade block had too much right and left play, so I moved the brackets until they were almost snug against the blade trunnions, then locked the screws into place as above. These two tweaks made my cuts much more consistent. You will need to experiment with the best feather placement to avoid getting a dip or alternately a hump on the top edge of the feather near the point end. Now I cut my feather bases blunt on the point ends and set that edge against, but not under the blade to avoid twisting the feather when the blade punches down. I make small marks on the guide plates with a Sharpie pen to help with consistent feather placement. I hold the feather in place near the middle with my finger (well short of the blade!) to stop it from moving, especially when multiple strikes are needed. I usually cut 4-5" feathers for my own arrows, then cut 3" feathers from what's left for children's arrows. The cuts will never be as clean or consistent as factory-made feathers, but I am reasonably satisfied with our Little Choppers and plan to buy one or two more soon in custom shapes.
If you send it back to us we can repair your original chopper. You can send it to PO Box 517 Ashley, IN 46705. I think the repair fee is about $10.
It doesn't sound like we received it if you can resend we can see if it can be done for you.
For a right wing chopper the leading edge of the fletch is pointed to the left.
I looked at your order and it indicates you bought a 4" RW chopper. If you can send us photos to [email protected] so we can see what your referring to, we will be better able to assist you and come to a reasonable solution.

They are about 3/4" high but they may very a little between choppers .
Yes it is universal.
That is correct that the banana style would be the closest.
We do offer customer feather chopper is you could please send us a cut out of the shape that you would like and send it to us.
In my opinion the T-hawk would help stabilize the arrow a little better since there is more feather there to catch air
You could but it will be hard to keep the feathers in place to make the cut.
