Replacement Indexer for Bitzenburger Dial-O-Fletch Fletching Jig Reviews

Exactly what it should be

Jake the Shot

I have need of both straight and right helical fletching so I got the necessary clamps and indexers for my jig. They work exactly as they should. Bitzenburger makes a quality product. As others have said, you need to be VERY careful when switching out the indexers - there are tiny bearings and springs that will fall out easily! Make the change in a controlled environment (over a read more table/sheet of paper, etc). Besides that little tip, the pieces fit together easily and well and with the jig instructions, should be easy for anyone to find the correct setting for the number and degree separation of fletches that you prefer.

Works Great

This product works great. If you are changing the clamp to LW, RW or Straight you have to have the matching indexer. Be careful when changing the indexer since there are tiny little springs and ball bearings that can go everywhere and are hard to find if you drop them. Take it apart in a box or at least on a large piece of paper.

I orginally purchased the Left Wing Indexer with my Bitzenburger fletcher but found that the only feathers I had on hand were RW so I orded a RW indexer from 3Rivers and when it came I proceeded to fletch the shafts that I had also purchased from 3R. Not only was it fun but I like the way my arrows fly!

Great fletcher for my needs. Have all three clamp and indexes to meet whatever arrow i may wish to build. Have had no problems other than glue sticking to clamp edge from time to time.

A must need for wood arrows

You do need the Left Nock Reciever if you are using a Left Wing Clamp and wood arrows. Be careful when you change recievers. Hold the jig in a box to catch bearings and or springs when you remove the other reciever.

Excellent, simply excellent

If you change your jig (Straight/Right/Left Wing) You have to change the indexer too.

You don't have to change your indexer the feather will not be perfectly alined with the nock. This is a professional jig so to make perfect arrows you need the different indexers.

I also have a 50 year old Bitzenberger as well as a new one. The indexer from the new Bitz will not interchange with the 50 year old model..... The clamps will however interchange, RW, LW or straight. Charles.

Look on the Bitzenburger web site for guidance about which indexer you need.. Straight indexer works for left and right (preferred by tradtional archers) according to the reference. R with R or L with L for compound shooters. The fellow I talked with is the one that drills the index holes and he said it can be personal preference depending on how feathers/vanes clear the rest.

Hello: I recently purchased a Straight Clamp. I originally bought the Bitzenburger Fletcher with a Right Wing Clamp. So, following 3Rs instructions I purchased another indexer and installed it in my fletcher. But I donot know for sure if I needed the new indexer. My advice is to buy the new clamp ( donot buy the new indexer) and try it. The worst thing that can happen is you must place another order for a new indexer. Blain

a) Both the R and L indexers can be used for a straight fletch. The indexer will just change the offset of the feather. b) The indexer will give you the proper offset for the clamp. If you use the opposite indexer it will offset the feather to the opposite side. I have heard of this being done before but, I do not know how this would affect the performance of the arrow at all. c) They will follow the helical of the clamp. The different helicals are designed to cooperate with the natural twist of the feather.
