Good product for home builder
I have had this for several years now and have made many dozens of arrows with this product, and have found it to be perfect for the home application. For mass production not a good method.
No it is intended for soft woods.
With a compression block you can build heavier stronger shafts.
With the compression block you will chuck it up in a vice and with a constant flame on the block with a torch you will then spin the shaft through the hole with a drill. The compression block will take your rounded arrow shafts and make them a size smaller. 23/64 will be 11/32 and 11/32 shaft will turn to 5/16. compressing a shaft will make it around 5 pounds weaker.
It is intended for compressing the whole shaft.
