Works well.
This water repellent powder works very well at keeping feathers dry and upright when conditions are wet. I mostly stump shoot in grass with G-5 small game heads and the powder keeps the feathers dry for a long time.
Great stuff for fly fishermen.
I use this as a dry fly desiccant on the river. It's much cheaper in bulk than the dedicated powders for fly fishing and works every bit as well.
Works - But Has To Be Re-Applied Often
It worked well - But Was Not As Easy To Apply As I Assumed It Would Be From Reading The Ads - Plus It Also Had To Be Re-Applied Often - Granted I Live In a Very Wet and Rainy Place - It Doesn't Take Long For Fletchings to Lose Any Natural Oils and Become Haggard / Less Effective - - But In All This Product Still Worked Better Than Any Method I Tried For Waterproofing Feather Fletchings… read more - -
Does the job
Works as advertised. Went hunting in the rain the other day and the water beaded up on feathers. Needs to be reapplied regularly though
Like this stuff
My feathers dry haven't had a chance to hunt with them but feathers dry in rain
Ready for a shower
I still have not been under the storm but I used it in four arrow feathers and put them under the shower.. better than vanes. I use always feathers the only problem was weather, now I will have my feathers dry without using plastic bags to protect them when outdoors. Good product
Best I know of...
works awesome, I havent tried any other brand in years
Powder puff
I have found this powder to be a good way to protect my hard work fletching feathers without alot of expense. It works but the bag you get is the bag the bottle comes in and is rather useless. Grab a long ziploc and make sure you either do this outside or wear a dust mask. I don't recommend black clothing while applying. Add enough powder to "shake and bake" the fletchings one arrow… read more at a time and work the dust in. shake off the excess and you're all set. It does leave a slight residue, but that's how you know it's working. store in the bag zipped closed and keep both your arrows and this stuff someplace cool and dry.
Flech dry waterproofing
The feather dri waterproofing is easy to apply, coats several doz. arrows, probably several years worth for most of us. The product deflects water like water off a ducks back. No smell and very, very light.
This stuff works great
I have used this before only it was described as an additive for black powder to keep your power dry
I would recommend in fletching the arrow then put you feather-Dri water repellent in a zip lock bag and shake it around. After you have done this I like to let them set for a day or so then you are good to shoot them.
I used it after the feathers were glued to the shafts. I put some of the treatment in a zip lock, then stuck the end of the arrow in and held the ziplock tight around the arrow shaft and shook it. Worked good. Sent via the Samsung Galaxy S®6 active, an AT&T 4G LTE smartphone
It does not add any noticeable weight.
Maybe a couple milligrams, nothing that would affect arrow flight
The feathers are not sealed. For the most part feathers are going to be fairly weatherproof. This is recommended for most hunting circumstances but, is not necessary for target shooting.
This is not a glue it is a waterproof powder that you will apply to the fletching. We do not apply this to any of our arrows that we pre make.
If you use the arrows frequently you will want to reapply the powder around every 3-4 weeks.
